SEAS ON TITAN: The Cassini spacecraft has finally turned up evidence of liquid methane or ethane seas on the Saturnian moon of Titan. Last July the craft's radar instrument spotted dozens of possible lakes near the moon's north pole. New images show that a few of those lakes—the largest of which is 100,000 square kilometers—are as big as some Earthly seas.
